Our Philosophy
Many sports apparel brands focus on performance. It goes without saying that using superior equipment can lead to lower scores. Our focus, however, is on the calm resilience it takes for any golfer to recover from a temporary setback. We believe, like the great Ben Hogan, that “…any golfer with average coordination can learn to break 80–if he applies himself patiently and intelligently.”
While Ben Hogan, in his book, Five Lessons, goes on to expertly break down and analyze the game, stroke-by-stroke and in great detail, there’s a lot that you can take away from his initial statement. Golf, and a wide variety of other sports, can be managed through the mental aspect of the game. By clearing your mind of previous shots, calming yourself, and concentrating on the task at hand, a lot can be achieved. There’s a reason phrases like “Keep your eye on the ball”, “Play one game at a time”, “managing the game” and “you are your toughest opponent” became clichés that are still common today – because at their core, they hold certain truths.
The intent of the “Keep it Together” brand is simply to remind us all that a big part of this game is a mind game, and that the most vital piece of equipment is already in our bags. We’re here for the underdogs, the comeback, the Cinderella stories, and markedly for the golfer who, after sending one into the woods or the manicured pond, hits one true in a beeline to the pin. We’re here for the next shot, the turn, and the scramble.
We’re here because we believe that by keeping it together when things get rocky, you create more opportunities to lower your score, improve your game, and enjoy the sport a bit more. We literally hang our hats on it.
